The new Aprilia SR 160 has been launched in the Indian market with several styling and feature upgrades. The updated scooter benefits from a new LED headlight and a fully-digital instrument cluster. At the back, the updated model gets a redesigned taillight that looks sportier than before. The new SR 160 range will be available in white, blue, grey, red, and matt black colours.

The updated console on the new SR 160, which is similar to the unit on the SXR 125, comprises a top speed recorder, average speed recorder, tachometer, speedometer, odometer, two trip meters, fuel economy indicator, fuel gauge, engine temperature, and a clock. The new console misses Bluetooth connectivity.

The mechanical specifications remain unaltered, and the new scooter continues to use a BS6-compliant 160.03cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve motor that makes 10.86bhp at 7,600rpm and 11.6Nm at 6,000rpm. The engine is linked to a CVT gearbox.

The suspension hardware on all variants of the scooter includes telescopic front forks and a single spring at the rear. The braking tasks are handled by a disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the back while the safety net includes a single-channel antilock braking system. All variants use 14-inch alloy wheels on both ends that are shod in tubeless tyres.
